Business Development Representative

Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing exciting news about financial products and services? Associated Healthcare Credit Union is hiring a Business Development Representative to do just that for potential members of the healthcare industry. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for promoting new business and membership growth while deepening current relationships. The main concentration for Business Development will be on sites close to our five offices but may require travel to businesses in the healthcare industry within the 33-metro county area. We serve employees in the medical industry with a full range of financial services and products. This full time position would be a sales positon for the credit union to potential members within our area of membership.

Business Development Rep Job Description

Responsibilities of the Business Development Representative include:

  • Call and visit prospective businesses in the communities by our branches, with an emphasis on the northern branches, and travel to all branch locations as needed.
  • Responsible for bringing in new membership. Discover, identify, and explore potential partnerships and opportunities within eligible membership groups. Coordinate relationships that benefit the Credit Union's business partners while providing growth opportunities for AHCU. Develop new businesses with healthcare practices, clinics and companies within our field of membership.
  • Conduct or coordinate in-person or virtual financial educational workshops, programs, presentations, seminars, or other content to build loyalty and add value to AHCU membership, and to educate on products and services of the Credit Union.
  • Meet with key decision makers and/or HR/Benefits staff at partner companies to ensure the credit union is an integral part of the new hire process, promoted as a company employee benefit, evaluate employee needs, arrange distribution of AHCU information and materials, stay abreast of potential partnership opportunities, and provide status updates on employee participation.
  • Responsible for the development of a regular planned program for scheduled site visits, tracking of site visits, and reporting on site visits.
  • Is responsible for the tracking and reporting of business development activities and success at on-site visits and new business. Is in charge of maintaining data in Business Contact Manager.
  • Provide quality service to all members and potential members recognizing and cross-selling appropriate products and services.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate's qualifications will include:

  • Strong communication skills (written, personal, and presentation) along with attention to detail.
  • Experience in sales and/or community relations. Networking with potential healthcare executives in the HR/Benefits area.
  • Self-motivated, energetic and persistent. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to evaluate and identify customer and business needs.
  • Credit union knowledge.
  • Planning & organizational skills, must have good time management skills.
  • Advanced computer and technical skills. Ability to access internet while onsite with potential new members for online opening of accounts.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel and other desktop publishing software.
  • Create and present presentations to large groups with the purpose of promoting new business opportunity and deepening current relationships.
