Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

General Office Questions

What is AHCU's routing/ABA number?

296076385

What is your SWIFT code?

The credit union does not have an associated SWIFT code for receiving wires. All wires (including those sent from international locations) should be sent using our Fed Routing number 296076385.

Does AHCU offer notary service?

Yes, we offer notary services at each of our branch offices. Please call ahead to ensure certified staff is available at the desired time.

What is the Credit Union's Federal Tax Identification number for tax return filings?

41-0738787

What is a Credit Union?

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members. The credit union makes decisions with the best interests of our member/owners in mind. Our not-for-profit status allows us to return our earnings to our member/owners in several ways: higher rates on deposit accounts, lower rates on loans, and fewer and less fees. Since we are a cooperative, members always have the right to run for our Board of Directors.

Why aren't Credit Unions insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC), like banks?

Similar to the FDIC, your funds are safe and secure, backed by the complete confidence of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) — an independent United States government agency dedicated to protecting credit unions and our members.  All your deposits with us are federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000. Visit www.NCUA.gov to learn more.

Through online banking, chatting with an agent or calling in and speaking to a representative.

How can I sign up for direct deposit?

How long does it take for deposited funds to be made available?

How long does it take for funds to become available when deposited at a shared branch location?

Shared branching deposits can take up to two business days to be available in your account.

What is the minimum age to open a checking account?
