What is a Credit Union?
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members. The credit union makes decisions with the best interests of our member/owners in mind. Our not-for-profit status allows us to return our earnings to our member/owners in several ways: higher rates on deposit accounts, lower rates on loans, and fewer and less fees. Since we are a cooperative, members always have the right to run for our Board of Directors.
Why aren’t Credit Unions insured by the FDIC like banks?
Similar to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC), your funds are safe and secure, backed by the complete confidence of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) — an independent United States government agency dedicated to protecting credit unions and our members.  All your deposits with us are federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000.
