Fixed Interest Rates: CDs offer a fixed interest rate for the entire term of the investment. This provides predictability and stability for investors who want to lock in a guaranteed return.

Safety: CDs are considered low-risk investments. The funds invested in CDs are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for credit unions, up to $250,000 providing a level of protection against the loss of principal.

Other benefits of Certificates of Deposit include:

  • Fixed rates, higher than standard savings
  • Provides a guaranteed return that can serve as a hedge to other investments
