Lending Manager

ASSOCIATED HEALTHCARE CREDIT UNION has an open position for a full-time Lending Manager located in the Woodbury office. We are looking for someone to manage the day-to-day operations of the consumer loan department and manage all aspects of the collection process.  The Lending Manager will also supervise the loan officers, mortgage officer, and the loan administrator.  They will also bring innovation and recommendations to the credit union for the lending department.

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in directing all credit union lending and branch operations, which include planning, recommending, and implementing programs and policies, and providing general administrative direction.
  • Communicate the credit union's goals and direction with the management team, staff, and other employees as appropriate to ensure a clear understanding of goals, expectations, requirements, rules, and regulations. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with credit union goals and strategies to maximize efficiency and quality of work to provide consistent quality service to members.
  • Hold periodic staff meetings. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services or products. Keep staff up to date on trends and general credit union information.
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervised area staff.  Ensure that staff are well trained.  Monitor individual performance and effectiveness. Participate in annual performance reviews or take corrective actions as needed. Train and coach as needed for lending products and various platforms used in the lending area.
  • Oversee and monitor the loan function to achieve its strategic goals.  Direct the workflow in all lending areas to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval and denial of loans.
  • Assist members in the loan application process, including (but not limited to) pulling credit reports, verifying debts, calculating debt to income ratios and disposable income.
  • Approve and/or deny loan applications, using proper tools to inform consumers of loan decisions.
  • Review and approve marginal loans, up to approval limits per Loan Policy.
  • Implement new loan products and services as directed by management.
  • Approve or deny loan extensions or modifications.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors associated with the department. For example, collections and insurance vendors.
  • Oversee the lending aspects for Universal Bankers.


The person who will fill this position will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work well with their team, be comfortable talking about credit union products and services, handle interruptions easily and be able to get back onto task quickly, be organized, and enjoy working with the public.

Qualifications and Benefits:

The ideal candidate will have three years credit union or related experience in lending and collections.  At least one year of equity/HELOC experience.

Senior Accountant

Associated Healthcare Credit Union is hiring a Senior Accountant at their main office in Woodbury MN.   We are a credit union that has been serving the medical industry with a full range of financial services and products for 70 years.  

The Senior Accountant will need to be experienced and strong in performing and preparing financial reports, maintaining, and managing the various systems related to accounting functions, and developing and analyzing data. The position serves as lead for projects and participates in monthly variance analysis, peer group reporting, regulatory reporting, and financial reporting for the Board of Directors and Senior Management and or others within the organization. This individual plays a major role in month-end processing and producing the annual budget, along with assisting management in overseeing the daily operations of the department and in providing guidance for others. Duties and functions must be completed accurately according to deadlines and in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations. This role will report to the Executive Director of Finance.

Some of the responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

  • Perform all accounting functions including AP, AR, cash flow, cost management, financial analysis, financial reporting, recordkeeping, GL, investments, and taxes.
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Responsible for general ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts, and preparation of journal entries.
  • Provide end-of-month close and produce monthly financial statements.
  • Post and reconcile the subsidiary records for the accrued income from investment accounts.
  • Provide end-of-month close and produce monthly financial statements.
  • Set up and run all prepaid and fixed asset items in the depreciation program.
  • Process and log of daily incoming and outgoing wires.
  • Responsible for managing Dormant Accounts and Abandoned Funds Reporting
  • Review Card Service Reports.
  • Provide regular reports to management of accounting activities.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to streamline credit union processes and procedures.

Qualifications: The successful candidate's qualifications are:

  • 2 years’ experience in back-office. Credit Union or Banking preferred.
  • College degree in accounting, finance, and/or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Back-office operations and knowledge of accounting systems.  
  • Strong communication skills (written, personal, and presentation) along with attention to detail.
  • Maintains a high standard of accuracy.  Is thorough, complete, neat and professional in all documents, system input and correspondence.
  • Expanded knowledge of Word and Excel, and other computer applications.  Continuous learning while participating in internal and external training and coursework.
  • Thorough knowledge of rules, laws, and regulations within the area of responsibility.
