I appreciate the convenient office location, and payroll deduction really helps us save money.
The people are really nice - I'm crazy about the tellers and the loan officers are great. When we needed to
borrow money they went out of their way to process our loan within a day. In February 2003 I was sent to Los Angeles for two weeks of training for a new job. My husband and I went a few days early at our own expense to explore the area before I began the intensive classes. At the Minneapolis/St.Paul airport, I mailed the check to Associated Healthcare Credit Union for the Visa bill which wasn't due yet, but I wanted to take care of it before leaving town. We use the credit card to pay for everything including gas and groceries and dinners out. We always pay the whole balance on the bill each month and this time the balance was rather large for us because it included the airplane tickets. In Los Angeles, we checked into our hotel and the next day decided to take a guided bus tour of the area. When our credit card was run, the charge was denied because we were over our limit. I was really frightened because I knew that we hadn't reached our limit when I mailed the payment. I feared there was fraud. Fortunately I had a check card which could be used for the tour – but what about the rest of the trip? When we returned to the hotel, I called Associated Healthcare Credit Union and explained my dilemma. The person was extremely understanding and thought we could work something out. But before we completed the call, my calling card ran out of minutes!! Amazingly the person at AHCU agreed to call me back! She did, and she was able to increase the limit over the phone. Once again, amazing!! I am sure the fact that I always paid my balance each month and that I had a very low maximum and clearly qualified for a higher limit based on income figured into that decision. I guess I am not too savvy a traveler because later I learned that the hotel runs the charges for at least one night as soon as you check in. I hadn't counted on that, but was relieved to know that no one else was using the card. I cannot imagine calling another credit card company and getting this kind of caring service. I would have had to punch numbers on the phone trying to get a real person to talk with, and then I very much doubt if any other company would help me in this situation. I would have been quite stranded and unable to take advantage of these few days of play before my classes. With another company, I suppose I would have had to wait until my payment was posted before I could use the credit card again. I was so grateful to Associated Healthcare Credit Union. Therefore, no matter what kind of fantastic offers I receive from credit card companies, I shall always remain faithful to Associated Healthcare Credit Union – and in the five years that have passed since that incident, I have continued to appreciate being able to talk with real people who work for an organization with integrity.

Overall, having the AHCU available to employees (speaking about my
personal feeling of the credit union) is a great asset. To be able to bank
while at work, have direct deposit, obtain loans and the great customer
service provided by all is wonderful. I don't know how many UH employees
benefit from the Credit Union - but if they aren't a member, I'm
surprised!
My experiences with the credit union: Good Health,
|
I have been a member of AHCU since Miller Hospital opened a "branch" of its
credit union at S. Lakes offering a weekly visit of a teller - working on
a card table! My daughter and grandkids are all current members.
The AHCU is like extended family. Each visit is like seeing a sibling you
haven't seen for awhile. There is the ever-present smiles and the chit
chat about your life and theirs. You do your business and then the
Good-Byes till you meet again. Just a Great Place and Great People, not
just your brick and mortar institution.
